Let’s go shopping! – denims at ASOS April 7, 2011
I like ASOS for a very simple reason: international shipping is free! Yeah! And I had pretty good shopping experience with them. Bought a denim skirt from them a few years back. The quality is quite decent! Recently I bought a POP mosaic eye-shadow palette from them and the package went missing in transit. BUT upon contacting ASOS, they resent another palette without any additional cost on my end. So hurrah! You can’t shop ASOS at one go, they simply have too many pretty things to browse through, so I’m just going to focus on denim today. I want to get a new pair of jeans. Specifically, I’m looking for a pair of dark blue skinny jeans with contrast stitching. No, I’m not going to get it online, jeans is something you got to try on first. BUT.. it doesn’t hurt to look right?
I am inclined towards full length skinnies and straight jeans. They make the legs look longer and slimmer if you choose a dark wash.
Seventies is back. I remember wearing bell bottoms / flare jeans about a decade ago in my late teens/ early adulthood. đŸ˜¦ Not that I regret throwing out my bell bottoms , it’s not as if I can fit into those jeans. My butt has expanded quite a bit since then. I think it’s important to wear flares long enough to cover your shoes…. And, you have to wear high high platforms or heels if you want to create an illusion of longer legs. Wear it any shorter, you’ll risk looking shorter than you really are. See this:
I don’t mind a pair of flares provided I can find one in my length. Its annoying, I tell you, every pair that I’ve seen so far is too long. You can’t shorten a pair of flares without affecting the shape. To accommodate my height, I have to remove quite a significant portion of the hem. It’s pointless….. Sigh..
Boyfriend jeans are the most unflattering jeans. Folded like this is worse! Hello stumpy! It should just stay in your boyfriend’s closet.
If I have skinnier legs, I would love to get jeans in soft pastel colour like peach or white.
